Prayers/Scripture Verses to be Memorized
Grade 6 Psalm 23
The Lord is my shepherd. There is nothing I shall want.
In verdant pastures you give me repose.
Beside restful waters you lead me. You restore my strength.
You guide me along the right path for the sake of your name.
Even when I walk through a dark valley,
I fear no evil for you are with me;
Your rod and your staff give me courage.
You set a table before me in the sight of my foes.
You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
Only goodness and kindness will follow me all the days of my life
And I shall dwell in the house of the Lord for years to come.
Grade 7 The Magnificat (Luke 1: 46-48)
My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord,
My spirit rejoices in God my saviour
For he has looked with favor on his lowly servant.
From this day all generations will call me blessed.
The almighty has done great things for me, and holy is his name.
He has mercy on those who fear him in every generation.
He has shown the strength of his arm,
He has scatttered the proud in their conceit.
He has cast down the mighty from their thrones,
And has lifted up the lowly.
He has filled the hungry with good things
And the rich he has sent away empty.
He has come to the help of his servant israel
For he has remembered his promise of mercy.
The promise he made to our fathers, to abraham
And to his children forever.
Grade 8 The Angelus
The angel of the Lord declared unto Mary
And she conceived of the holy spirit
.Hail Mary,
Behold the handmaid of the Lord
Be it done to me according to your word
Hail Mary,
And the word was made flesh
And dwelt among us
. Hail Mary,
.
Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God,
That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.
Let us pray:
Pour forth we beseech you, O Lord, your grace into our hearts that we to whom the
incarnation of Christ, your son, was made known by the message of an angel, may, by his
passion and cross, be brought to the glory of his resurrection through the same Christ our
Lord. Amen.
Grade 9
Queen Of Heaven (Regina Caeli)
Queen of Heaven, rejoice, Alleluia.
For he whom you were worthy to bear, Alleluia.
Has risen as he said, Alleluia.
Pray for us to God, Alleluia.
Rejoice and be glad, O Virgin Mary, Alleluia.
For the Lord is truly risen, Alleluia.
Let us pray:
Father, you were pleased to give joy to the world through the
resurrection of your son, our Lord Jesus Christ. Grant, we beseech you, that through the
mediation of the virgin mary, his mother, we may come to possess the joys of eternal life.
Through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.
Grade 10 Final Prayer Of Eucharistic Benediction
Blessed be God. Blessed be His holy name. Blessed be Jesus Christ,
true God and true man. Blessed be the name of Jesus. Blessed be his most sacred heart.
Blessed be his most precious blood. Blessed be Jesus in the most holy sacrament of the
altar. Blessed be the holy spirit, the consoler. Blessed be the great mother of God, mary
most holy. Blessed be her holy and immaculate conception. Blessed be her glorious
assumption. Blessed be the name of mary, virgin and mother. Blessed be saint joseph, her
most chaste spouse. Blessed be God in his angels and in his saints.
Grade 11 Come, Holy Spirit
Come, holy spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and enkindle in
them the fire of your divine love. Send forth your spirit and they shall be created. And
you shall renew the face of the earth.
Let us pray:
O God, who by the light of the holy spirit, did instruct the hearts
of your faithful, grant by the same holy spirit that we may be truly wise and ever rejoice
in your consolation.
Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
