Increased Offertory Giving

January 10, 2019

Dear Parishioners,

In December I wrote to you announcing our increased offertory initiative. I asked that you prayerfully think about your offertory gift in order for us to reach our goals of increasing the recorded giving in the parish to at least 80% and increasing the actual Sunday offertory by 20%. In the short time since this program was announced, I have been encouraged by the generous response made by many our families.

The success of this program relies on the willingness of Holy Cross parishioners to re-examine their current level of giving and then make a commitment to a new level of weekly parish support. Giving to the parish is an offering of faith through the spirit of sacrifice. But giving is also a practical matter; it is the only way our parish can maintain our current level of service to the community as well as prepare for our future needs.

While I am not aware of your current financial situation, I ask that you would consider making a commitment to giving weekly or monthly to our parish and/or increasing the gift that you so generously give. On the enclosed Commitment Card, you will find a gift plan with suggested giving for your review. After you have had the time to prayerfully consider this important request, I ask that you would indicate your gift by completing the enclosed Commitment Card and return the card to the parish during any one of the Masses on Commitment Weekend or in the pre posted envelope. The returned Commitment Card will also be used as a tool to update our database with your most current address, phone number and email.

It is my hope that this Program will strengthen the relationship you have with Holy Cross, and deepen the pride you have for our parish. I pray that you will be challenged by this request and, and I pray that you will see your contribution as a matter of faith – a way to return something to the Lord in gratitude for His goodness. I am grateful for all that you do to make the parish a vibrant Catholic community.
