New business manager

We welcome New Business Manager Glynda Flores!

Glynda Flores has a Bachelor of Science in Commerce, Major in Accounting, which she obtainied in the Philippines. She worked several years in the accounting field, both in the private and government sector, before joining the workforce here in the US. She immigrated to the US in year 2000 with her husband and their three young boys.

After taking a break to stay home to take care of her young family, Glynda started doing volunteer jobs like bookkeeping and as a tax return preparer for some local organizations in the community. She also began working with a local housing non-profit organization, mostly assisting in the administrative operations and eventually assisting in bookkeeping and program reporting and documentations. She was a part of this organization for ten years until it closed down.

Glynda continued on to work with another non-profit agency focused on human services, and advocates for people with disabilities, encourages and supports them by providing services and tools to help them live independently within the community. She became passionate about being a part of these organizations whose mission was and is to empower people and bring them together and be a part of the community.

The Business Manager opening at Holy Cross appealed to Glynda because it involves working with many others to further and support the mission of the Church. The interaction with the staff, members of different ministries and other parishioners excites Glynda and she hopes to bring her gifts to be used for all.

Glynda and her family have been parishioners of Holy Cross for 20 years.  Her three young boys are now young adults.  Her oldest son, Adryan, is a science teacher in Charlottesville, VA. Her second son, Dean, is an engineer based in Ohio and her youngest Hans is a Nursing student at the University of Lynchburg.  Many of you know Hans and most of the time Glynda is referred to as “Hans’ mom” instead of her own name!

In her spare time, Glynda likes to cook her family’s favorite native dishes, and when she’s not cooking, she’s binge-watching her favorite shows on Netflix.

Welcome Glynda!!
