Weddings at Holy Cross

Below is information about celebrating the sacrament of marriage at Holy Cross.

Preliminary Preparations

  • The Sacrament of Marriage is usually celebrated in the parish where you are registered.


  • All preparation begins with and in-person meeting with either our priest or deacon.


  • Additionally, the engaged couple must attend an Engaged Encounter weekend or other suitable Pre-Cana event organized by the Diocese of Richmond.


  • Documents are required for Marriage within the Catholic Church. The priest or deacon will go over these items with you at your meeting.

Setting the Date

  • Your wedding date will be set following your initial meeting with the priest or deacon.


  • Traditionally, weddings take place on Saturdays between 11am and 2pm.
